The Weekly Warlock Wind-Up: I’ll second that

A puzzle which needs no introduction, no picture and certainly not a calculator:

How many seconds are there in a year?

Good luck, answer will be up on Friday, etc.

Is this a normal year or a leap year? 😀

Some may think 31,536,000 for a regular year and 31,622,400 for a leap year. But those people probably don’t understand why leap years exist.
The reason we have leap years every 4 years is because a year is actually about 365.242199 days. That’s .242199 is nearly 1/4 of a day. So, every 4 years we add up those 4ths to make 1 more day in the year.

So, what it comes down to is:
    365.242199 days * 24 hrs * 60 mins * 60 secs =
    a year is 31556925.9936 seconds
