The key to this week’s puzzle was, of course, that I mentioned you didn’t need a calculator; hence, you didn’t need to do quite what Fen did – as mathematically impressive as it was, I doubt it could be done in your head:
So, what it comes down to is:
365.242199 days * 24 hrs * 60 mins * 60 secs =
a year is 31556925.9936 seconds
Instead the answer was… 12 seconds! There’s the second of January, the second of February, the second of March… All the way through to the chilly second of December.
