This week, I posted the following tricky question, and you can see the solution after the break!
Jane drives a car with the registration KF8, Michael drives a car with the registration NM14 and Georgina drives a car with the registration HB16. What is the registration of Olive’s car?
The trick here was to look at the relationship between each person’s name, and their registration.
- Jane – KF8
- Michael – NM14
- Georgina – HB16
The more observant among you will perhaps spot three things – the first letter of the registration is one letter after the first letter of the name, the last letter of the registration is one letter after the last letter of the name, and the number at the end of the registration is twice the number of letters in the name.
Therefore, Olive’s registration would be PF10 – P to follow the O, F to follow the E and 10 since there are five letters in the name and 2 x 5 = 10.
Next puzzle on Monday!
